- Will checking my finance affect my credit score?
- A pre-qualification check is a soft enquiry and does not affect your score. Only a full application, once you've chosen a car and told us to proceed, results in a formal enquiry with the bank.
- Which banks do you work with?
- We submit to all the major South African vehicle finance providers, including WesBank, Absa, Standard Bank, Nedbank and MFC. We submit to several at once so you can compare what comes back.
- Can I get finance if I'm blacklisted or under debt review?
- If you are under active debt review, no bank will finance a vehicle until the review is cleared. If you have adverse listings, some banks will still consider you, usually at a higher rate and with a larger deposit. We'll tell you honestly what your position is rather than run applications that will be declined.
- What deposit do I need?
- Zero-deposit finance exists but you pay for it in interest over the term. A 10 to 20 percent deposit meaningfully lowers both the instalment and the total you repay. We'll show you both numbers before you decide.
- Should I take a balloon payment?
- Usually not. A balloon lowers your monthly instalment by deferring part of the debt to a lump sum at the end of the term, and you pay interest on that deferred amount the whole way. Unless you have a specific plan to settle or refinance it, it costs you more.
